Western North Carolina and the Blue Ridge Mountains have an abundance of trout streams with healthy populations of brook, brown, and rainbow trout. Most of our guided trips are within an hour of Asheville. Curtis Wright Outfitters specializes in guided fly fishing on our smaller wild trout waters, wading where the native Appalachian Brook Trout (or "Specs" as the locals call them) can still be caught and the solitude of our mountains enjoyed.

We also guide on our catch and release waters that don't get as much pressure as our stocked waters. The streams we enjoy fishing the most are off the beaten path, and they offer an unforgettable experience.

Rates for wade trips are $195 for a half day and $295 for a full day for 1 or 2 anglers and include all fly fishing equipment, instruction, and transportation. A gratuity is not included. A third angler can be added to wade trips - $75 for a half day and $100 for a full day. Lunch is provided on full day trips. If you want to bring your own rod and reel, we would suggest a setup in the 2 wt. - 5 wt. range and between 6'6" - 8'6".

If you want to tangle with the smallmouth and trout of our tailwaters in Western North Carolina or Eastern Tennessee, we offer guided float trips. We guide out of 13' self-bailing rafts, with custom, high-back fighting seats. Rates are $275 for a half day and $375 for a full day for 1 or 2 anglers and include all fishing equipment, instruction, and transportation. Lunch is provided on full day trips. A gratuity is not included.

Curtis Wright Outfitters also offers guided hunts for ruffed grouse in a wild setting and bobwhite quail on our Game Preserve. Our guides have trained bird dogs, but feel free to bring your trained bird dog or ask about a dog training hunt with one of our guides.

Cancellation Policy: Curtis Wright Outfitters requests 7 days notice for trip cancellations. Late cancellations will be charged 50% of the trip rate (e.g. $87.50 for 1/2 day wade; $175 for full day float).
