What a beautiful Saturday that we woke up to. Cool air and no wind when we woke got everybody excited.  Little did we know what the afternoon had in store for us.  We had two more float trips go out this morning, the rest of the crew was heading into the 2nd meadow for their chance at a large cutthroat.. French toast and bacon got the wheels turning and off we went.

This was my second day in a row hiking into the 2nd meadow of Slough and after the end of the day, boy do my legs feel it. When we got there fishing was red hot.

Ken and Chuck were doing plenty of catching, then the wind came in. After that the fishing got tougher. Fish were still caught you just had to wait between gusts.

BWO’s and ants were the key today.

Unfortunately both boat trips felt the brunt of the wind and had a tough afternoon , but their morning’s were spectacular. Lots of fish and and better size with them.. The trips from yesterday all went stellar with minimal wind to deal with.  Several nice fish were caught on dries. They all stayed in the action until it tapered off at around 3pm. Peter got the big fish of both days and here is Richard Park’s showing it off.

After everyone got back and exchanged stories we had all the guides come over to the house for dinner. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed meeting the new folks.  Tomorrow the group will be splitting up and heading to different sections of the Gardner River.
