General Information:
So it seems that the generations schedule are going to hold more to the consistent on side which can mean a couple of things to anglers. One this will allow for some early season floats on the South Holston. Which can give you every opportunity under the sun in a single day. Streamers, nymphs, and even dry fly fishing can all be had on a single stretch of water. With the flows being up for awhile the fish have settled into the heavier flows and will feed comfortably when a well drifted fly is presented in the right areas. Some serious early season Sulphur hatches have already mad their presence known, and the fish are starting to expect them. The only catch to all this spectacular fishing is that you need to be in a boat. The Watauga is under the same heavy release and will lend itself to streamer fishing a quick trips in these situations. That being said we are on the verge of one of the more talked about hatches on the tailwaters the “Mother’s Day Caddis Hatch”. Fish feed on these bugs with abandonment, and can feel the feeding frenzy approaching. Book your float trips now while the fishing is great and get a chance to experience one of the best rivers in the Southeast!
